My 2012 Resolution:
Read More Books. Write More Poems.
Here is my 2012 reading list:
- Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson
- Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift
- Burning in Water Drowning in Flame, Selected Poems of Charles Bukowski
- The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
- O Pioneers! by Willa Cather
- The Waste Makers by Vance Packard
- A Tree Within by Octavio Paz
- The World Is Flat by Thomas Friedman
- Unholy Trinity by Mark Aarons and John Loftus
- Emotional Freedom by Judith Orloff
- East of Eden by John Steinbeck
- Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder
- The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway
- Paris Spleen by Charles Baudelaire
Dorian Gray — that one was trippy. Definitely worth the read, though! Are there going to be book review posts to add to the occasional recipe? 😛
I think I shall! I’m in the middle of Steve Jobs biography right now and loving it, and just started Cellist of Sarajevo – not really into it, yet.
Hola Amelia
I think that you are really going to enjoy East of Eden. What a great city to get lost in a story.
thanks for the recommend! My brother gave it to me for christmas … i think I might start it this weekend!
