Parade of Bolivians

A walk on a sunny spring afternoon led us to the discovery of a huge parade of Bolivians on Avenida de Mayo.

The paraders were dressed up in full costumes made from shiny fabrics that glittered in the sun.

Marching bands with loud brass instruments played marches that would have pleased Sousa himself.  I enjoyed them anyway.

The parade was in honor of the festival of the Virgin of Copacabana, who is the patron saint of Bolivia.

Buenos Aires has a large Bolivian population, but never before had I seen them all in the same place.

These ladies were nice enough to pose for a picture with me.
