The New Home of Anuva Wines – Reserve

Anuva Wines, specialty Argentine wine club, recently moved into a gorgeous new space in Palermo Soho.  With high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, a peaceful street view and elegantly furnishings, this spacious yet intimate space is the absolutely perfect location for a wine tasting – not to mention the lighting is fantastic.

Anuva is calling the new space Reserve.  Besides hosting wine tastings, Casa Mun is moving to the space to host their closed door dinners.  Rumor is other closed door restaurants might be using the space on other nights.  Anuva is planning some upcoming special wine events for specific wineries to be hosted in this lovely new locale.

The space is shiny, new, and gorgeous and the tasting is just as good as ever.  Our personal sommelier was the ever-charming Cara, who struck the perfect balance of wine education, friendly conversation and generous pours.

We tasted five fantastic wines from boutique Argentine vineyards.  My favorite two were a Carinae Torrontes 2011 and a 2009 Caluna Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Blend – a complex wine for a complex girl.

Torrontes is the Argentine flagship white wine.  The grape migrated from Spain, where it had failed to produce a desirable wine.  The unique terrior of the Salta region proved to be much more fertile and the grape adapted well.  The floral fragrance is deceitfully sweet, as this wine is quite dry and crisp to the palate.

The velvety Caluna Blend was aged in French oak for fourteen months and comes from a vineyard practicing sustainable farming.  It’s full bodied fruitiness and lasting finish make it the perfect wine to pair with a deserving high quality chocolate.

An Anuva trademark is the simultaneous pours, so tasters can compare wines.

The food pairings were as authentically Argentine as the regionally produced wines with which they were served.

In addition to private or small group wine tastings that can be booked during your time in Buenos Aires, Anuva is a Argentine specialty wine club and has a vast online store of Argentine wines from small, boutique vineyards from across the country.  Book a tasting and enjoy their stylish new location.

I totally agree that it is all about what you like. And the more you try the more you will be able to drciesn what you like and what you don’t like. A wine could be $200 a bottle and a one of a kind, but if you don’t like the way it tastes, what good is that? I like the way you approach wine from a non-snob vantage point!

A stunning place captured beautifully in the fantastic pictures!
